Lisa Matthews, Psy.D.
I obtained my doctorate degree in 2012 through The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Since then, I have worked in a variety of settings and learned more about who I am as a clinician. I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I also use Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, meditation and mindfulness in my work.
I believe that we are all multifaceted individuals, often experiencing opposing wants and needs simultaneously. We want to belong but we also want to withdraw when someone speaks to us. We need connection but we tend to lash out at our loved ones. We are complicated beings and I am always honored to help individuals make meaning of these different parts of themselves.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, mood instability, trauma, stress, interpersonal relationships, or other internal difficulties, I look forward to working together to achieve your personal goals. Please call or email to make an appointment.
